Sue and Jane found me through a recent purchase of DIVA magazine, looking for bespoke suits for their civil partnership avoiding anything that looked or felt too business suit-y. (Technical term 😉)
Both ladies had a good idea of what they were looking for, the styles that they like and feel comfortable in as well as those shapes they don’t.
After going through a few style options, Sue opted for a dinner suit style. To make it more in keeping with what she was after we mixed it up with the cloths, using a navy, black and silver grey 100% bamboo blended into a striking texture, contrasting with lapel satins in navy and black waves. The contrast of the two cloths gave the jacket a formality as well as not being tied in to evening wear only.
Her classic cut trousers finished the suit off and will be perfect for mix and match individual pieces as well as the suit to dress up and down. The jacket could be great with a t-shirt and jeans.
Jane wanted to have a military feel but not overly boxy, we designed a shape that incorporated shaping into bold diagonal seams that are mirrored in the button lines. The teal cloth is brilliantly offset with the bold, domed, brass buttons.
