About Kerry

about Kerry Goodrich, bespoke tailor the bespoke process pricing cloths

Not long after moving from Sydney, Australia in 2011, Kerry kick started her career in England as a visiting tailor running her small business from her home. The high demand for her specialised work led to the studio opening in late 2013.

Kerry has obtained the prestigious title of Master Tailor with more than 25 years of tailoring experience up her sleeve. Her work is not just in demand from her private clients as she has made tailored outfits for dozens of Madame Tussauds figures. These historic and famous figures are seen in the popular attractions around the world. The most notable are of the Queen, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Brad Pitt, Jackie Chan and many more.

Kerry’s “bespoke with a twist tailoring” is unparalleled. Her extensive knowledge of theatrical tailoring combined with well-honed and trusted bespoke methods put her in the vanguard of tailors breaking the convention of traditional bespoke tailoring. She faithfully maintains the quintessential, high quality workmanship that is synonymous with the reputation of true bespoke.

Kerry’s classic tailoring, along with her bridal and wedding suits are in demand from customers from all over England. Some clients have travelled from Brighton, Cambridge, Wales and Essex, not just London. As only a few appointments are needed it is easy to arrange fitting times to suit you. Kerry’s innovative bridal suits are popular in the LGBT+ community for a queer alternative. Many of her designs fall comfortably in between a traditional wedding dress and a butch suit. The Bespoke Process

Typically the bespoke process for a suit will take 8 – 12 weeks to create from start to finish and there is often a waitlist. A 2-piece suit will take around 50+ hours of hands on tailoring to complete. You will need to have two or three fittings along the way. Our fitting appointments are flexible and can be scheduled around your diary.

The first appointment

the bespoke process pricing cloths at Goodrich Bespoke

We begin with a no obligation appointment where we discuss your requirements in detail. We establish the style/design and select the fabric and lining and Kerry will take your measurements. Once you have placed your order we then purchase your chosen cloth, lining and trimmings. Kerry will draft and cut a pattern, cut out all the cloth and internal canvases. To begin your suit is hand basted together. This basic shape is what will be tried on in the first fitting.

Fitting stage

At the first fitting your suit will be the bare bones of what it will become. As the fittings progress, the suit takes shape. In the beginning, you will be able to see the canvas and ‘inner workings’ of your suit in this skeleton form. After the fitting we then dismantle your suit and alter the pattern accordingly. With the adjustments carried out in the fittings, the heavy paper suit pattern that makes up your suit is continually updated. We keep and use this pattern as the starting point for your future orders with us. We then sew your suit together for a second and more advanced fitting, having used this updated pattern.

The final check and collection

This final fitting is an opportunity to make any minor adjustments or tweaks before completion. This also gives us the chance to ensure that we are both completely happy.

Your suit is almost finished, at this point it may be only the buttonholes and hand finishing left. Very soon your suit will be complete!

Each garment we craft in our studio is exclusive; as individual as the person we make it for. As with any unique creation, the price can vary depending on many factors including the materials specified, the level of complexity, and the time involved in the design and hand production process.

Our cloths are separated into price bands for ease: Red Star, Blue Star, Silver Star, Gold Star and Double Gold.

Example of Red Star Prices

The entry level band of our bespoke suits is Red Star. In each price band there are a huge variety of weaves, weights, colours and finishes. Our most popular ranges are the Blue Star and Silver Star bands. You’ll find the more luxurious cloths are primarily in the Gold Star range. If you are looking for the best, you will find the most exquisite cloths marked with Double Gold Star. Our most discerning customers choose from this band as these are the most coveted cloths. Created with only the best and most luxurious fibres available garments tailored from these, produce the embodiment of luxury tailoring. Costs are available on request.

We will provide you with a written quote detailing your bespoke order for your approval. To place your order we require a deposit as this covers the initial cloth outlay and secures your position on our wait list. Part payments are taken at each fitting and the final balance is due upon the collection of your suit. For wedding or orders with fixed deadlines placing your order early is crucial to avoid disappointment. Due to high demand there may be a waiting period of several months before we begin to work on your order.

Friendly, knowledgeable and fast. I popped in last week thinking I would leave some trousers with them…. they repaired them straight away, good quality service with a smile. Thank you both

Nerys Humphris

Popped in with a jumpsuit which I thought needed lots of alterations as it just wouldn’t sit well. Feared it would be a very expensive job… What a different outcome! A few pins later and I was told it was just needed a few stitches to sort the lining out. An amazingly simple solution turned it into my perfect outfit! I felt like a million dollars wearing it, felt like it was made to measure 😊. Thank you x

Came to Goodrich Bespoke with a school jacket that needed altering (sleeves shortened). Jacket was completed in good time and no evidence from the outside that it has ever been altered! Amazing.

Heidi Strickland-Clark

I so nearly threw a loved jacket away that had a few holes in, some fabulous safety pins for keeping a hem in place and raggedy old sleeve linings. Now it’s all sorted from Goodrich Bespoke and I have a good as new item again  Thank you!

Sophie Cadec

Lovely, friendly and officiant people. Phoned up early afternoon today to see if they could fix my work top for tomorrow. The seem down the front had come apart. Only a small job but they decided to do it free of charge. Very lovely lady x

Laura Butchart

Had three pairs of new(ish) jeans that were to baggy, Goodrich bespoke adjusted them to perfection, I will just have to keep weight off.

Stephen Feldwick

The team are miracle workers, having repaired suit trousers and very recently performed their alchemy on a badly ripped (expensive) pair of Lycra cycling shorts. Always friendly and up for a bit of banter too. Thoroughly recommended.

Pascal McNamara

I didn’t realise clothes could be mended/altered so efficiently until I dropped in to Goodrich at lunchtime today. What looked complicated to me was competently dealt with in just minutes for a fair price. Highly recommended.

Heidi Strickland-Clark

I am the best dressed fitness instructor in town thanks to Kerry! Well, from the waist down anyway…

I’ve used Goodrich Bespoke for alterations and mending jobs for a few years but thought I’d try something else.

I fancied a pair of pin-stripe stretchy leggings to run my Fit Camp sessions in. I wanted smart but stretchy, tailored but easy to move in. Kerry completely nailed it and I love them!

The turnaround was quick and I’ve got a second pair on order to set me up for a while.

Thank you ladies, always a pleasure to drop in and see you.

Benedict Ernst

Great experience with Kerry and her team! Completely beyond my expectations!! I had a grey flannel suit that I dreamed of making a 3 piece with the addition of a waistcoat. Kerry managed to not only amazingly find a perfect match fabic but also make me a beautiful, cleverly matching piece that really raises the outfit. After the initial measurements the rest was done by post (as I Iive in London) with no hassle. Second alteration back and forth and it fits like a glove! Thank you!

Rosie Hawkins

Thank you ladies for brilliant, helpful service today. Very fast, efficient and talented.

Just to let you know, I’ve worn the dinner suit twice now since you kindly adjusted it to fit. For the first time, I have complete strangers stopping me in the street to tell me how smart I look wearing it.

To say I am pleased with the results of your efforts is something of an understatement, ecstatic is probably closer to the mark.

Kerry made me a trouser suit and waistcoat to die for. It was so good it was featured in a Reading newspaper. She has a wonderful variety of fabrics to choose from, makes marvellous suggestions and her tailoring and attention to detail is spot on. I’ve now given her a couple more projects and just know she’ll make exactly what I hoped for. I wish her lots and lots of success because she deserves it.

Carla Glanville
